Shanghai Huaer Collegiate School Kunshan is seeking to appoint a teacher of Middle School (pre-AP) Mathematics for an August 2021 start.
SHCS employs a blended Chinese and American curriculum that combines a drive for academic excellence within a whole child education program designed to nurture healthy, globally aware young adults. During the compulsory education stage, the school fully implements the Chinese National Curriculum, endorsed by the Ministry of Education. Using the national curriculum as a guide, the school introduces a highly interactive and learner-centred teaching model that is also aligned with the leading American curriculum standards such as Common Core, Next Generation Science and International Society for Technology in Education. Aligning these curriculum standards provides an immersive bilingual learning environment that cultivates interdisciplinary and integrated learning in science, technology, engineering, arts (humanities, physical education, visual arts, music, drama), and mathematics (iSTEAM). This allows scholars to achieve academic excellence while at the same time echoing the concept of whole child, personalized education and teaching.

We are seeking to appoint a highly talented faculty to cover all areas of the school and who can share in our ethos - enjoying collaboration and learning, embracing cross-cultural adaptability, and sharing a resilient and ethical passion for developing an outstanding college preparatory school. International or US primary English curriculum experience is preferred. Endorsements or specialisms in ESL, Reading & Literacy, Special Education or Gifted & Talented will be advantageous.
Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred

This role commands a highly competitive salary and benefits package, including high-quality housing; flights for employee and dependents, and medical insurance for employee and dependents. Full tuition support will be provided for any successful applicant with school-age children. The position will be offered on an initial three-year contract term with annual renewal thereafter.
