About the Role

The school is seeking a passionate and creative Primary Music Teacher who can inspire students and develop their musical abilities through engaging lessons and performances.

You will teach music across the primary age range and contribute to a vibrant arts programme that includes concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities.

This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys fostering creativity, building student confidence, and promoting a love of music in young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging primary music lessons to students aged 5–11
• Teach elements of performance, composition, and music appreciation
• Organise and support school concerts and musical productions
• Encourage creativity and musical confidence among students
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the primary department
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider school community

Requirements

To be considered for this Primary Music Teacher job in Shanghai, applicants should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching music within a primary school setting
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A passion for music education and student development
• International school experience (preferred but not essential)
