School Description: 

Al Akhawayn School of Ifrane was founded in 1995, and is the only English language, co-educational Nursey-12 school in Ifrane, Morocco, following the American educational model. The main objective of the educational program is to develop well-rounded students and provide them with the social and academic grounding needed to prosper in their education continuum.

Job Description & Responsibilities:
This unique blended position allows for both classroom teaching and small group academic intervention support with a focus on special education student needs.  As a classroom teacher, the responsibilities include 4th grade Social Studies and English Language Arts each day.  An academic intervention schedule will be designed based on student needs and assessments.  The post includes a possible leadership role based on qualifications.

  • Deliver standards based and engaging lessons to students.
  • Maintain open communication with families.
  • Have a working knowledge of technology to integrate with instruction.
  • Attend in participate in faculty meetings (frequency)
  • Attend biweekly professional growth team meetings and actively serve as a member of your professional growth and development team.
  • Actively collaborate with fellow teachers for the success of students and school community.
  • Coordinate with Division Heads to develop an academic intervention schedule for K – 8 students.  Provide small group academic intervention to meet student learning needs, with a focus on reading intervention.
  • Coordinate with the middle school academic interventionist and teaching assistants to support the delivery of targeted lessons to students.
  • In collaboration with teachers and Division Heads, develop and write Individual Learning Plans for students with specific learning needs.
