Brunei Shell Petroleum is seeking to appoint a Middle Years Science Teacher for Panaga School. The school has approximately 400 students on roll between the ages of 2-13 years. Panaga School is a Primary and Middle school, implementing the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the National Curriculum for England.
Year 7 and 8 classes in Panaga’s Middle Years implement the National Curriculum for England.

As Key Stage 3 Science Teacher, you will:
Be an excellent teacher, able to successfully implement the National Curriculum Programmes of Study for Science
Work independently and line manage and upskill technical assistants and learning support assistants
Demonstrate a broad experience of successful teaching in Science at Middle Years level
Demonstrate suitable skills and qualifications to safely teach the practical aspects of Science
Play a key role in supporting school development of Science as a subject specialist, by working collegially with colleagues across the school to increase their subject knowledge and teaching skills in this area
Be expected to deliver high standards and contribute to all aspects of school life
You need to have:
A degree in Science, or teaching qualification with a Science specialism
Qualified teacher status with significant and relevant experience in teaching Science at Middle Years level
A professional interest in recent educational developments and initiatives
Strong communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work within an international context
An ability to work in a location that is a close-knit community
Understanding HSSE and how this is applied in a school context, including child protection
If invited to interview, you will be required to present a portfolio of student learning examples to demonstrate your teaching and learning outcomes in relation to Science.
The successful applicant will be offered a two-year contract in the first instance and there may be an option, by mutual agreement, to extend on an annual contract basis. You will be remunerated with a competitive salary and the opportunity to take on new professional challenges with the support of a large multi-national company.
