Maths Teacher – Cairo, Egypt – ASAP Start

An ambitious British international school in Cairo, Egypt is seeking an excellent Maths Teacher to join its secondary teaching team for an ASAP start.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Mathematics specialist who enjoys teaching academically motivated students and wants to work within a school that places high expectations, intellectual curiosity and individual pupil development at the heart of its approach.

The Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across the secondary age range, helping students develop confidence in the subject alongside strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Mathematics forms a core part of the school's Senior School curriculum. Younger secondary students build the foundations required for examination study before progressing to IGCSE Mathematics, with Mathematics also forming part of the school's A-Level provision in Sixth Form.

The school is looking for a teacher who can make Mathematics both challenging and engaging. Lessons should encourage students to understand mathematical concepts rather than simply learn processes, while providing the support and stretch required for pupils with different abilities and aspirations.

About You

Applicants should have:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent
• A relevant degree
• Strong Mathematics subject knowledge
• Successful experience teaching Maths at secondary level
• Experience of the British curriculum
• Confidence preparing students for external examinations
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A commitment to high academic standards

Experience teaching IGCSE Mathematics is particularly desirable, while the ability to teach Mathematics at A-Level would be an advantage.
