IBDP Mathematics Teacher – Cairo, Egypt – ASAP Start

A leading international school in Cairo, Egypt is seeking an experienced IBDP Mathematics Teacher for an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong secondary Mathematics specialist to join an academically ambitious international school and teach within its International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

The Position

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics at senior secondary level, supporting students as they prepare for the IB Diploma and further study at university.

The school offers both of the current IB Diploma Mathematics pathways:

• Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA)
• Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI)

Courses are offered at both Standard Level and Higher Level, providing an interesting opportunity for an experienced IB Mathematics teacher to work with students across different mathematical interests and abilities.

The department encourages students to see Mathematics both as an academic discipline and as a practical tool for understanding the world. Teaching therefore combines mathematical reasoning and abstract concepts with problem-solving, modelling, analysis and the effective use of technology.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mathematics specialist with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to challenge and support students at Diploma level.

Applicants should have a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, together with a relevant degree and successful secondary Mathematics teaching experience.

Previous experience teaching IBDP Mathematics is highly desirable, particularly experience with Analysis and Approaches (AA) and/or Applications and Interpretation (AI). Teachers with strong A-Level Mathematics experience and the academic background to transition successfully into the IB Diploma may also be considered.

You should be confident teaching academically ambitious students, preparing learners for external examinations and helping them develop the independence and mathematical thinking required for university.
