English Teacher – Cairo, Egypt – August 2027 | London Interviews

A well-established British international school in New Giza, Cairo is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join its secondary department from August 2027.

The school will be interviewing shortlisted candidates face-to-face in London on 11 and 12 November 2026.

This opportunity would suit an English specialist who enjoys combining academic rigour with engaging literature and language teaching.

Teaching English

The successful candidate will teach secondary English, developing students' reading, analytical writing, communication and critical-thinking skills.

The school follows a British-style curriculum, with students progressing towards GCSE/IGCSE examinations.

Teachers are encouraged to develop students' appreciation of literature while building the language skills required for academic success.

The successful candidate should be confident supporting students with different learning needs and encouraging independent interpretation, discussion and written expression.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have:

• A relevant degree and recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS or B.Ed
• Strong secondary English teaching experience
• Experience delivering GCSE/IGCSE English Language and/or Literature
• Excellent subject knowledge and examination preparation skills
• Effective differentiation and classroom management
• An engaging approach to teaching reading, writing and literature

Salary & Package

• Annual salary: £31,500–£45,352 (Teacher Pay Range)
• A separate STPR scale applies to eligible appointments.
• The school also provides accommodation, annual flights, medical insurance, two free school places for children and lunch.
