Site Information:

Colombia is a country fighting for the construction of a society that overcomes the consequences of more than fifty years of armed conflict. After the signing of peace agreements with FARC guerrillas, one of the biggest challenges for the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana de Colombia (IELCO) is to contribute to reconciliation and conflict resolution at the national, regional and local levels. A missionary serving in this context can contribute to IELCO's mission and learn a lot about the community and its achievements in regaining trust, healing memory, rebuilding the community, and resolving and overcoming conflicts through the schools that the church operates.

IELCO is a member of the church of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). IELCO has about 4,000 members in 15 congregations, most of them in and around Bogota.
