Secondary History Teacher – British International School – Qatar

The Role

The successful candidate will teach History across the secondary phase, delivering engaging lessons that promote discussion, analysis and independent thinking. Experience of teaching the British curriculum, including IGCSE and A Level History, will be an advantage.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering inspiring History lessons that encourage historical enquiry and debate
  • Planning challenging and well-structured lessons suitable for students of differing abilities
  • Assessing progress effectively and supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Creating a positive classroom environment where students are motivated to learn
  • Supporting educational visits, enrichment activities and the wider life of the school
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to further develop the Humanities department
     

Candidate Profile

Applications are welcomed from teachers who have:

  • A degree in History or a closely related subject
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE with QTS or equivalent
  • Previous experience teaching the British curriculum in the UK or overseas
  • Strong classroom management and excellent interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
