A growing international school in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Secondary to join its senior leadership team for an ASAP start.

The Role

As Head of Secondary, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the secondary school, working closely with the wider senior leadership team to ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, student achievement and pastoral care.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the continued development of the secondary phase as the school expands its provision for older students.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing effective leadership and direction across the secondary school
• Driving high standards of teaching, learning and academic achievement
• Leading, supporting and developing secondary teaching staff
• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to improve outcomes
• Developing a positive culture of high expectations for students and staff
• Supporting curriculum development and the continued growth of the secondary phase
• Promoting student wellbeing, safeguarding and high standards of behaviour

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should ideally have:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent
• A relevant bachelor's degree
• Significant secondary teaching experience
• Proven leadership experience within a secondary school
• Experience as a Head of Secondary, Deputy Head, Assistant Head, Headteacher or comparable senior leader
• A strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and secondary school improvement
• Experience leading and developing teaching staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Experience within an IB or international school would be highly advantageous, particularly experience with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) or senior secondary curriculum development.
