Art Coordinator – Doha, Qatar – Immediate Start

An established international school in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced and creative Art Coordinator for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Art teacher who is ready to take on additional responsibility, lead the development of Art & Design and help create a vibrant culture of creativity across the school.

The Role

The successful candidate will combine classroom teaching with responsibility for coordinating and developing the school's Art provision.

Working with teaching colleagues and school leadership, you will help ensure a high-quality and engaging Art curriculum that develops students' technical ability while encouraging imagination, experimentation and individual expression.

The school's British-based curriculum places importance on developing well-rounded learners and gives creativity a meaningful role alongside academic development.

As Art Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the subject, support colleagues and raise the profile of Art within the wider school community.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

• Teaching engaging Art & Design lessons
• Coordinating the planning and development of the Art curriculum
• Supporting high standards of teaching, learning and assessment within the subject
• Developing students' practical skills, creativity and confidence
• Supporting colleagues with curriculum planning and resources
• Promoting opportunities for students to display and celebrate their work
• Contributing to enrichment activities and the wider creative life of the school
• Monitoring student progress and maintaining high expectations across the subject
   

About You

We are looking for a qualified teacher with strong Art subject knowledge and the enthusiasm to lead and develop the subject.

Applicants should ideally have a PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification, alongside a relevant degree in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design or a related discipline.

You should have successful classroom experience teaching Art and be able to demonstrate the organisational and leadership skills required to coordinate a subject area.

Experience of the British curriculum and teaching towards IGCSE Art & Design would be particularly valuable. Previous coordinator or subject leadership experience is desirable, although applications may also be considered from experienced Art teachers ready to take their first formal step into subject leadership.
