Middle East, Dubai
A well-established international school in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an enthusiastic Secondary French Teacher to join its teaching team from January 2027.
The successful candidate will teach French across Grades 6–11, working with students from the beginning of their secondary education through to examination level. This makes the position particularly suited to a French specialist who enjoys developing language skills progressively across a broad age range.
Salary & Benefits
The school offers an attractive international teaching package including:
With accommodation and utilities provided in addition to the tax-free salary, the package offers teachers a good opportunity to save while living and working in the UAE.
From Language Foundations to Examination Success
The school is looking for a teacher who can make French an active and engaging classroom subject, developing students' confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
With responsibility for Grades 6–11, you will be able to build students' language skills over time: establishing strong foundations with younger learners before developing the greater accuracy, vocabulary and independence required as they move towards formal examinations.
Lessons should encourage students to use French confidently rather than simply learn vocabulary and grammar in isolation. Cultural understanding and exposure to the wider Francophone world should also help students see language learning in a broader international context.
What You'll Bring
Applicants should have a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or an equivalent international teaching qualification, together with a relevant degree.
You should also have:
Experience within a British or comparable international curriculum would be particularly valuable. Previous overseas teaching experience is advantageous but is not essential for a strong French practitioner.
A Different Side of Life in the UAE
This position offers the benefits of an international teaching career in the UAE while being based away from the higher costs and faster pace of central Dubai.
Combined with the tax-free salary, private accommodation and paid utilities, the location can offer an attractive balance between lifestyle and the ability to save.
If you are a qualified French Teacher looking for a secondary teaching position in the UAE from January 2027, apply through Teaching Abroad Direct for consideration.
