Teaching Abroad Direct is recruiting on behalf of a leading international school in Dubai for a committed and adaptable Secondary English Teacher. This role offers an immediate start on a cover basis until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity to transition into a full contract from August 2026.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an English teacher to join a successful department on a temporary basis, with strong potential for a long-term position. You will deliver engaging lessons across secondary level, developing students’ skills in reading, writing, analysis, and communication.

You will teach across Key Stages 3–5, including IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme (DP) English Language and/or Literature.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3–5
• Teach IGCSE and IB English Language and/or Literature
• Plan and deliver engaging schemes of work
• Assess and monitor student progress
• Support literacy development across the school
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, debating, or writing initiatives
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards
   

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
• Experience with IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme preferred
• Ability to start immediately
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Flexibility and commitment to a temporary-to-permanent opportunity
