Science & IB Physics Teacher – Dubai, UAE – Immediate Start

An established international school in Dubai is seeking an experienced Science Teacher who can also teach IB Diploma Physics for an immediate start.

This is an unusual opportunity combining broad Middle School Science with specialist Physics teaching at senior level. It would suit a strong Physics or Science teacher who enjoys teaching younger students but also has the subject knowledge required for academically demanding post-16 Physics.

From Middle School Science to IB Physics

At Middle School level, Science is taught through a hands-on and inquiry-based approach, covering areas including matter, forces and motion, energy, waves, biological sciences, Earth sciences and engineering.

The successful teacher should be comfortable teaching across the sciences and encouraging students to investigate, experiment, question evidence and solve problems rather than simply learning scientific content.

At senior level, the role includes IB Diploma Physics, requiring strong specialist Physics knowledge and the ability to develop the analytical, mathematical, practical and independent-learning skills expected at IB level.

Previous IB Physics experience would therefore be particularly valuable.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, together with a relevant Physics or Science degree.

The school is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience teaching Middle School/KS3 Science or equivalent
• Strong specialist knowledge of Physics
• The ability to teach IB Diploma Physics
• Confident practical and laboratory-based teaching
• An inquiry-led approach to Science
• Strong differentiation and assessment skills
• Excellent classroom management and communication

Experience teaching within an American or international curriculum would be advantageous.
