A specialist private school in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Primary Teacher for January 2027, offering the opportunity to teach exceptionally small groups of approximately 5–6 pupils.
Unlike a conventional classroom setting, the school uses a highly personalised approach, allowing teachers to adapt lessons to each pupil's academic level, strengths and learning needs rather than following a fixed year-group pace.
The position requires a confident primary generalist who enjoys teaching across multiple subjects and can provide strong foundations in English, mathematics, science and humanities.
The Role
- Working with pupils of different ages and abilities, you will:
- Teach English, mathematics, science and humanities across the primary curriculum.
- Develop pupils' reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary and literacy skills.
- Teach mathematics with an emphasis on number sense, conceptual understanding, reasoning and problem-solving.
- Plan personalised lessons and interventions based on individual assessment and progress.
- Support pupils working towards lower-secondary-level learning where appropriate.
- Use discussion, projects and practical activities to develop curiosity and independent thinking.
- Work closely with specialist teachers and parents to support individual learning goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject, plus a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent.
- Minimum five years' classroom teaching experience, including substantial primary teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and mathematics, with the confidence to teach science and humanities.
- Experience adapting teaching for pupils of different ages and academic abilities.
- Excellent English communication, classroom organisation and assessment skills.
- Experience with Singapore Maths, mastery-based mathematics, gifted learners, mixed-age teaching or Years 7–8 would be particularly advantageous.
