Middle School Maths Teacher – UAE – September 2026

A well-established international school in the United Arab Emirates is looking for a strong Maths Teacher to teach students across Upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 from September 2026.

This is an interesting opportunity for either a primary teacher with particular strength in Mathematics or a secondary Maths specialist who enjoys working with younger students. The role bridges the later primary and early secondary years, helping pupils make a successful transition towards more specialist Mathematics study.

A Maths Role Across Upper KS2 & KS3

Rather than being confined to a single year group, you will work with students at an important stage in their mathematical development.

Teaching will focus on building secure foundations in areas such as number, calculation, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics and mathematical reasoning, with the level of challenge increasing as students progress through the school.

A major part of the role will be developing confidence and problem-solving ability. The school is looking for a teacher who can identify gaps in understanding, challenge stronger mathematicians and help students understand why mathematical methods work rather than simply teaching them to follow a process.

You will also play an important role in ensuring continuity between primary and secondary Mathematics.

Who Could This Suit?

There are potentially two strong routes into this position.

You might be an experienced Upper KS2 teacher with excellent Mathematics subject knowledge who would like to move towards more specialist Maths teaching.

Alternatively, you may already be a qualified secondary Mathematics teacher who is comfortable teaching Key Stage 3 and enjoys working with students at the beginning of their secondary education.

Applicants should have a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, alongside a relevant degree.

Whichever your background, you should be able to demonstrate strong mathematical knowledge, effective classroom management and the ability to adapt teaching for students working at different levels.
