German Teacher – Dubai, UAE – January 2027

A leading British international school in Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced German Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a German specialist who can inspire students to become confident language learners and develop strong skills across speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Teaching German

The school follows the National Curriculum for England, with Modern Foreign Languages forming part of a broad secondary curriculum.

The successful candidate will teach German across the secondary age range, helping younger students build secure foundations in vocabulary, grammar and communication before progressing towards more advanced language study.

The school is looking for a teacher who can make German engaging and relevant, encouraging students to use the language confidently rather than viewing it purely as an examination subject.

At examination level, lessons should develop accuracy and fluency while giving students the skills and strategies required to perform successfully in external assessments.

The Successful Candidate

Applicants should hold a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, together with a relevant degree.

You should ideally have:

• Strong German language skills
• Experience teaching German at secondary level
• Experience preparing students for GCSE/IGCSE German
• A strong understanding of MFL teaching and assessment
• The ability to develop confident speaking and written communication
• Effective differentiation and classroom management
• An engaging approach to language and cultural learning
• Experience teaching German at A-Level, IB or another post-16 programme would be advantageous.
• The school has a highly international student population, making the ability to engage students from different linguistic and educational backgrounds particularly important.
