French & Spanish Teacher – Dubai, UAE – January 2027

A leading British international school in Dubai is seeking an experienced French & Spanish Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2027.

This position would suit a versatile MFL specialist who is confident teaching both French and Spanish and can encourage students to become enthusiastic, independent and confident language learners.

The Role

The school follows the National Curriculum for England, with Modern Foreign Languages forming an important part of the secondary curriculum.

The successful candidate will teach French and Spanish across the secondary age range, developing students' skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Lessons should provide students with a secure foundation in vocabulary and grammar while creating plenty of opportunities to communicate naturally in the target language.

As students progress towards external examinations, the teacher will be responsible for developing greater accuracy, fluency and confidence while ensuring pupils are well prepared for the demands of GCSE/IGCSE language study.

The school is particularly interested in teachers who can make languages relevant and engaging by incorporating the culture and contemporary life of French- and Spanish-speaking countries into their teaching.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should hold a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, together with a relevant degree.

You should ideally have:

• The ability to teach both French and Spanish
• Successful secondary MFL teaching experience
• Experience preparing students for GCSE/IGCSE
• Strong spoken and written language skills
• Effective examination preparation and assessment practice
• The ability to differentiate for students with different levels of language proficiency
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Experience teaching A-Level, IB or another post-16 MFL programme would be advantageous.

January Start in Dubai

The position starts in January 2027, giving teachers currently working in the UK or internationally time to plan their move to the UAE.
