English Teacher – Dubai, UAE – Immediate Start

An established international school in Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join its teaching team for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified English specialist looking to teach within a diverse international environment where strong literacy, communication and critical-thinking skills are central to student learning.

The Position

The successful candidate will teach English within the school's middle years, delivering an internationally recognised curriculum with US Common Core standards forming an important part of the English programme.

The school is looking for a teacher who can develop students as confident readers, writers and communicators while encouraging them to think critically about the texts and ideas they encounter.

Lessons should provide an appropriate balance of challenge and support, with teachers expected to respond effectively to different levels of English proficiency and academic ability.

The international nature of the student community makes the ability to differentiate learning particularly important.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, together with a relevant degree and successful English teaching experience.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Strong English subject knowledge
• Experience teaching English at upper primary, middle or secondary level
• The ability to develop students' reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills
• Effective differentiation for students with different learning needs
• Strong classroom management
• An engaging and student-centred approach to teaching

Experience of US Common Core, IB or another international curriculum would be advantageous, although strong teachers from other recognised curriculum backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
