Chemistry Teacher – Dubai, UAE – Immediate Start

A high-performing British international school in Dubai is seeking an experienced Chemistry Teacher to join its Science department for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Chemistry specialist with experience teaching at GCSE/IGCSE and ideally A-Level who is looking to join an established international school with a strong academic reputation.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join an experienced secondary Science team, teaching Chemistry to students across the senior school and supporting pupils as they progress towards external examinations.

The school is looking for a teacher who can combine excellent subject knowledge with engaging classroom practice. Students should be encouraged to understand challenging scientific concepts, develop their problem-solving and analytical skills and become confident conducting and evaluating practical investigations.

At senior level, the ability to teach Chemistry beyond GCSE is particularly important. Previous A-Level Chemistry teaching experience is highly desirable, particularly experience preparing students for external examinations and supporting those progressing towards science-related university courses.

The school also offers an IB pathway at senior secondary level, so previous IB experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed or equivalent, alongside a relevant Chemistry or Science degree.

You should ideally be able to demonstrate:

• Strong secondary Chemistry teaching experience
• Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE Chemistry
• A-Level Chemistry experience or comparable post-16 teaching
• Excellent Chemistry subject knowledge
• Confidence delivering practical and laboratory-based Science
• Strong examination preparation and assessment skills
• The ability to challenge high-achieving students while supporting different learning needs
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

The school has a strong academic culture while maintaining an inclusive and student-centred approach. Teachers are expected to encourage curiosity, independence and deeper scientific understanding rather than focusing solely on examination preparation.

Candidates should be available to relocate to Dubai at short notice.
